You’ve spent countless dollars and hours to produce this one epic content that will provide MASSIVE VALUE to your readers. You’ve added photos, quotes, infographics, statistics; basically the entire shebang that makes an epic content “epic”, and the only thing left for you to do is to hit the “publish” button – and so you did.
The content is now live on your website, and you can never be more proud of yourself (and your team) for creating such an epic post.
But then you ask yourself… “now what?”

Your question, despite it being only two words is so valid and critical, that it can very well spell the difference between REAL marketers who know what they’re doing, versus those that are posers who keep on telling you to publish quality content and it will market itself on the web – it won’t.
There are hundreds of thousands of amazing content in the web that’s ignored by others simply because they aren’t marketed. Now don’t get me wrong, I know that there are articles that have somehow gone viral even though their publisher has not done their due diligence in marketing it. However, this RARELY happens. And if you compare the figures between those posts that have gotten lucky, versus those that haven’t, you’ll soon realize that the “publish and pray” approach will get you nowhere.
If you aren’t a huge fan of the “publish and pray” strategy (I doubt if you can even call it one), then I urge you to take note of the checklist of “to-do” things that I’m about to share with you after publishing an epic post.
1.) Have a video version of it created then have it published on Youtube.com and other video publishing platforms.
2.) Turn your posts to slideshows then publish to slideshare.com and other slideshow publishing platforms.
3.) Turn bits and pieces of your posts to memes, then drip-post them to your social media accounts.
4.) Turn them to infographics, then share them to other infographic publishing sites.
5.) Turn them to podcasts. You can invite others in your podcast so they can share their thoughts about it. Not only will they be able to help in increasing the value of your post, but they can also help share it to their community.
6.) Share the post on your social media platforms.
7.) Add links on your previous posts to your currently published epic post.
8.) Message your social media followers (be selective of whom to message) and ask for their opinion about your post. Of course, you have to ask them to share as well if they like it.
9.) Share your epic post on group conversations.
10.) Go to sites like Bizsugar.com then have your content syndicated.
11.) Have your content syndicated on top tier sites like Business2community.com and socialmediatoday.com.
12.) Create a PDF version of your post then submit them to PDF publishing sites.
13.) Create a webinar about your epic post.
14.) Tell your email list about your post and ask them to comment or share the post.
15.) Tell others about your epic content by running a comment marketing campaign about it.
Conclusion
Don’t ever be contented with simply publishing high quality posts. In addition to producing quality content, you need to take the time to market them otherwise you’ll be missing out on a lot of opportunities.
