Have you done it?
Have you made a significant pivot (or even a small one)?
This is what I mean….
There often comes a time in your career/business when you must pivot. You must make changes to stay alive (and thrive).
As an example…. In the last year or two, MANY trainers and coaches have gone from a brick and mortar business model to online coaching and training. Why? More time freedom, lower overhead, more travel opportunities, and the ability to work from home. https://spencerinstitute.com/ce…/online-coach-certification/
For many business owners, switching from a coach/consultant/advisor who travels, to one which works from a central location, is a positive pivot. Why? No more wasted time between appointments, and reduced auto/fuel costs.
For my business, I’ve pivoted many, many times over the 25 years since I started.
Why? I keep learning. When you learn a better way, you need to decide if the old way still serves you.
Have you known of different business owners/entrepreneurs who have made radical shifts in how they do business? What was the result? Do they earn more? Did they reduce costs? Are they able to operate with fewer employees?
Sometimes people pivot and experience a bad result.
Why?
It can be a wide range of things. They could have missed the upward swing of a trend. And that brings up another point about chasing trends. They can be short lives, and you can totally miss out. I choose longer trends and play the long game.
I digress….
You can have a bad result when you pivot and didn’t properly account for the costs associated with the changes.
You can have a bad result when you pivot after receiving good-intended, yet poor, advice from the wrong people.
You need to do your homework. You need to research. You need to plan. And, most important……. once you decide to pivot, YOU NEED TO MOVE YOUR A$$.
Seriously, you need to leave a wake. HUSTLE!!!
That’s the way it works.
Life and business never stand still.
Are you in the dark ages?
Are you keeping up with technology, science, social media and the evolution of the consumer?
NO? Your business will die.
YES? Awesome… keep going!
