Why is Harrogate so Special?
Harrogate is a well-known Victorian Spa town located in North Yorkshire, UK. It is a beautiful town surrounded by green fields, woods and of course the Yorkshire Dales. Giving the town a fantastically unique setting Harrogate is very a very popular place for tourists from all over the world. People travel from all over to come and see this delightful Spa Town. Cycling has recently bolstered the town’s tourism industry as Harrogate hosted the Tour De France and more recently the UCI Championships.
Harrogate Weather Now
Understanding the weather is crucial for visitors if you want to catch Harrogate in all of its prime during the sunnier spells. However, in recent years the sun has been quite evasive in the town. This article will give you a personal guide to the weather types in recent years and the best times to visit when the weather is likely to be nice and sunny.
Autumn: September through October
Harrogate is truly a beautiful part of the world and at Autumn, it really gives out this all-natural, beautiful and colorful landscape wherever you go. The surrounding trees change color from bright vivid greens to a selection of oranges, browns, and yellows. They really give the town some character. The weather during autumn is usually quite wet and rainy. However, recently there have been some “Indian summers” where the summer months have overlapped and given the usual Autumn weather a very warm and sunny couple of weeks. When this happens, the views are just incredible.
Winter: End of October through Late February
The cold, the wet and occasionally there will be snow and ice during these winter months. Don’t be put off by the weather at this time of year, there are plenty of clear sunny days, it’s just that they won’t be very warm days! This doesn’t stop the spectacular views Harrogate has to offer. Harrogate weather in the wintertime can be glorious.
Spring: March through May
The weather is very mixed in the Springtime. Harrogate has been known to have snow, sun, rain, sleet, hail – you name it the Springtime can be quite an unpredictable time of year. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the weather, there is a very positive side to the Spring weather. Harrogate comes alive! The flowers surrounding the Stray come out and the town is full of color, variety and of course natural beauty.
Summer: May through September
Harrogate, usually very warm in the summer with temperatures ranging from 15-25 C but the summer can also be very dull, dreary and sometimes the sun very rarely comes out. The weather during summer is wonderful when it is clear blue, hot sunny skies. The energy around the town is much better, everyone is out and utilizing the green fields around the town with smiles on their faces.
To conclude, the weather in Harrogate is varied. But regardless of the weather, you are guaranteed to see some wonderful sights it just depends what light you will see them in. You can visit Harrogate at any time of the year and you will have a wonderful time.
