We have put together their top eight tips below. Try using these tips to make a great impression on your new boss:
1. Stay On Top of Important Tasks
Capturing 27.3% of the vote, learning to manage your workload ranked number one in terms of making a good impression on your new employer. Allocating the right amount of time to the various tasks that come your way is a surefire way to demonstrate that you can stay organized and on target.
In any new role, there are a lot of different tasks that need to be accomplished. At the beginning of each day, make a to-do list, ordering the tasks from the most important to the least important. This will help you stay on track with everything that you need to do so that you don’t fall behind.
If you aren’t sure which tasks are the most important, talk to a trusted coworker or your boss. Leave plenty of time for each task – especially since you still may be in the learning phase with many of the items on your to-do list. Staying organized like this demonstrates that you know how to effectively manage your time.
2. Take The Advice Of Your Coworkers
As the newest member of the team, you can benefit from the advice of your colleagues. Listening to what they have to say shows that you are a team player and that you are capable of taking direction from others.
Always listen closely when your coworkers are talking to you. Make sure you fully understand what they are talking about – particularly if they are discussing tasks that you find challenging.
Paying attention like this shows that you take your job seriously and that you are eager to learn.
3. Socialize With Other Staff Members
Focus on creating relationships with your new coworkers. Most bosses like to see their new employees getting along well with others.
A good way to begin socializing more is by eating lunch with your colleagues. Anytime you run into someone new, take a little bit of time to introduce yourself. Always attend any social gatherings at your company, as well, to form deeper bonds with your coworkers.

Another option is to help your coworkers with their projects. Again, this shows your willingness to pitch in. 9.8% of the people who responded to the survey listed helping other team members as the most important tip for making a good impression on a new employer or boss.
4. Take Cues From Your Coworkers
Keep an eye on your coworkers, watching how they act at work. You can learn a lot about the company culture by watching how employees intermingle and how they discuss issues with one another. Observing your colleagues can teach you everything you need to know about company etiquette, from how to send emails to how to set up meetings.
Watching your coworkers carefully and taking cues from their actions shows your new boss that you are capable of adapting and that you fit well within the company’s culture.
5. Jot Down Notes
Whenever you start a new job, taking notes is essential. Writing down important tips and information is the best way to ensure that you don’t forget anything essential in your new role. Even though taking notes isn’t much fun, it is important for your success.
Carry a notebook with you, jotting down any login information or computer tips. Today, companies rely on a lot of different computer programs, which means that it is more important than ever to keep track of technical data like login codes when you are first starting. You can even write down the names of your coworkers or important details about them so that you don’t forget.
