Denver is wrapping up summer with a hotdog eating contest, some epic outdoor concerts, and a great series of baseball games — plus many more fun activities!Â

Arts & Culture
Opening Weekend: Waitress
📍 Arvada Center, Arvada (Maps) | Website | Hours: Thursday, August 29 and Friday, August 30 at 7:30 pm; Saturday, August 31 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm; Sunday, September 1 at 2 pm | Entrance: $38 for preview, $63+ for performance
Tony-nominated musical Waitress will open at the Arvada Center. Guests can attend preview performances (with lower ticket prices!) Thursday and Friday, or see the full, finished show on Saturday and Sunday.Â
Closing Weekend: Hand in Nature
📍 MCA Denver (Maps) | Website | Hours: Sunday, September 1 from 10 am – 5 pm | Entrance: $14 for adults, free for kids
This exhibit created by Gala Porras-Kim focuses on conservation and the natural world. The sculptures, paintings, and drawings were designed to evolve or degrade during the time the exhibition was on display. This will be the last weekend you can see Hand in Nature at the Museum of Contemporary Art, one of the best museums in Denver.Â
Closing Weekend: Snoopy and the Red Baron

📍 Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum (Maps) | Website | Hours: Sunday, September 1 from 12 – 5 pm | Entrance: $19.95 for adults, $12.95 for kids ages 4-16, free under 4
Kids of all ages can see comic strips, memorabilia, and behind-the-scenes artifacts concerning the World War I Flying Ace. There will be a paper airplane station, a selfie station, and more celebrating Snoopy and his daredevil adventures. The last day of the exhibit will be Monday, September 2 so this is the final weekend to visit.Â

Rockies Home Games

The Colorado Rockies will be playing home games all weekend at Coors Field. The team will take on the Marlins on Thursday and then have a three-game series against the Orioles on Friday through Sunday. Attendees on Saturday can also purchase a limited-edition Batman shirt, and fans on Sunday can come before the game to get autographs from players.Â
WWE NXT No Mercy

Cheer on your favorite pro wrestling stars at this WWE event at Ball Arena. Ethan Page, Roxanne Perez, and other superstars will compete during an action-packed evening.Â

Lamb Of God & Mastodon

Enjoy an evening of heavy metal with Lamb of God and Mastodon at Red Rocks. The bands are on tour across the U.S. during 2024.Â
The Doobie Brothers 2024

Groove along with The Doobie Brothers during a fun night of retro music! The band will sing favorites like “Long Train Runnin’” and “Takin’ It to the Streets” … and you’ll have a hard time sitting in your seat.Â
Phish
📍 DICK’S Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City (Maps) | Website | Hours: Thursday, August 29; Friday, August 30; Saturday, August 31; and Sunday, September 1 at 7:30 pm | Entrance: $107.65+
Jam band Phish will return to DICK’S Sporting Goods Park for its traditional Labor Day weekend concerts. This year, there will be four days of concerts instead of three. Phish fans will be able to come to one concert, or purchase a 4-day ticket to experience the entire event.Â
Hozier

Hozier will sing his haunting songs during a concert at Fiddler’s Green. Canadian singer and songwriter Allison Russell will perform as well.
JoFoKe & Same Cloth

JoFeKe & Same Cloth are known for melding several genres to create beautiful music. They’ll spend the evening playing original and revamped classic songs.Â
Dierks Bentley: Gravel & Gold

Country superstar Dierks Bently will perform at Red Rocks. He’s expected to play songs from his new album Gravel & Gold, along with favorites like “Drunk on a Plane” and “What Was I Thinkin’.”
Daniel Trujillo’s Latin Vibes presented by Mi Vida Strings

Head out for an exciting date night in Denver with an evening of Latin jazz! The band includes Daniel Trujillo on vibes, Victor Mestas on piano, Gonzalo Teppa on bass, Alejandro Castaño on drums, and Eric Trujillo on conga and sax. They’ll play cha-chas, boleros, mambos, and more.Â
El Baile Mas Grande Del Mundo

Enjoy a silent disco-comedy night mashup at Bierstadt Lagerhaus, one of Denver’s best breweries! Guests each get a pair of wireless headphones which will stream a set from comedian Janae Burris. Special guests including Ali Kareen and Caroline Williams will also perform.Â
Guzzle the Glizzy 2024

Can you snarf down three hot dogs (with buns), one donut, and one beer in record time? Jump in on the first “Guzzle the Glizzy” competition … or show up to watch the fierce competitors. Watching is free, but there’s a $15 charge for each contestant, and all proceeds will benefit the Bienvenidos Food Bank.Â

This will be the last weekend for the community market which encourages small neighborhood farms to sell their produce. Organizers and vendors are passionate about “quality food and urban agriculture.”Â
Bear Aware Jeopardy

Learn to be bear-aware by playing a Jeopardy-inspired game at one of Colorado’s best state parks. You’ll learn how to be safe around these adorable, but possibly deadly creatures. Celebrate at the end with some tasty s’mores.Â
