You and I are always wanting the next year to be even better than the current year.  We desire success and fulfillment to be constantly improving.

There are a few things you can do right now to make sure 2019 is productive, simplified, exciting and filled with personal and professional achievements.

Here are 5 action steps you can take right now to get a head start on 2019 success:

1. Write a list of your biggest successes this year.

How did these great outcomes develop? What was needed? How did you gain the knowledge? Then decide if it still serves you. Learn how you can make it even better. 

2. Write a list of your “bad” moments, experiences or outcomes.

I know, this isn’t fun, but it’s important.  You aren’t going to dwell on it. You just need to be honest and learn. Why did it go wrong? Did you later find that it was a “blessing in disguise”?  Is now a better time to reattempt that same thing with new knowledge and resources?  What can be learned?  Now, let go of the bad feelings! No dwelling on the negative.

3. What do you need to know now? 

Often times you can feel “stuck” and yet that’s just a way of saying “I don’t yet have the knowledge I need”.  Just be honest. What knowledge is lacking?  Is the lack of knowledge holding you back?  I bet it is 90% of the time.  Why? Because if you knew how, you would have already done it.  Be comfortable asking for help. Realize you have to invest in your knowledge to overcome what used to hold you back. You have to invest in yourself.  This never ends.

4. Be ready and willing to hustle more than you have before.

I’m not a fan of hustling every day, all day, blah blah blah… that you see on social media.  Those people are often not happy. All too often, they are too focused on competing with a fake guru who rented a jet for the day to look important. Just work hard and smart.

5. Even before the hustle, you need to commit. 

You must commit yourself to the process of making 2019 even better than 2018. You must commit yourself to learn what is required.
