As a digital nomad, you do not have to pack everything. Learning to pack light is essential as you travel from one location to another.

1. Backpack
Rather than carrying wheeler bags, go for backpacks. These bags are easy to carry and even has large space in it. On the other hand, wheeler bags are heavy and you cannot go everywhere with these bags.
If you are a travel blogger, then wheeler bags will be a complete disaster. You will find many varieties of backpacks in the market but be mindful to buy those which are of high quality and waterproof.
Moreover, go for the ones that have many compartments so that you can keep your clothes and electronics separately otherwise everything will turn into a mess.
2. Wallet
You can place all your important document in a wallet rather than carrying those anywhere else. For instance, if you are on any medication, you can keep the prescription in the wallet rather than keeping it in your backpack.
On the other hand, there are even larger wallets that are designed for traveling entrepreneur. In those wallets you can store your id card, boarding passes, prescriptions and many other important documents.
3. Paperwork
While packing, paperwork are the most neglected things but remember that your trip can turn into a complete disaster if you are not paying attention to the important documents. Here is a list of documents you need to carry as a traveling entrepreneur:
- Passport
- Boarding pass
- Id cards
- SIM card of the country you will visit
- Bank cards
- Driving license
- Extra passport size photos
4. Electronics
Electronics play a very important role in the life of any digital nomad. These electronics are the main source of income and livelihood. So you can never compromise with it.
but this does not mean that you will carry every gadget that you have at home, starting from drone to apple watch. Not everything is important in the list of electronics and you can surely leave one and take another.
For instance, if you are a travel blogger then the essentials for you are the laptop and camera along with your mobile and if you are a freelance writer then the only thing you need is a laptop.
So pack as per your need and profession. A gadget that you haven’t used for years will not turn out to be useful on your trip. Therefore, think smartly.
5. Clothing
While it comes to clothing pack less because you are not going for a fashion fiesta but a journey. Just take two sets of casual clothes for wearing and two sets of “need to wear” basics.
Do not worry about the shortage of clothing because in any corner of the world you will definitely find garments shops and you can surely buy clothes from them.
We recommend you to carry cotton clothes if you are heading towards a place that has a temperate climate. Whereas, the fabric of your clothing will always depend upon your destination and personal preferences.
6. Footwear
Go for footwear that is comfortable. You will surely not want to ruin your trip wearing shoes that hurt your feet.
Rather than going for fancy shoes, try buying flip flops. These are comfortable easy to carry and even water resistant.
But if you are not a flip flop person then switch to sandals that are of good quality and waterproof.
7. Toiletries
Toiletries are another essential that you should carry with yourself. Many long flights provide toothbrushes, sleeping mask, and other essentials.
But it is always good to carry the ones that you have because it is a matter of personal hygiene. Whereas, do not always rely on the toiletries that you might get because they might not be of good quality.
8. Hand Sanitizers
There is no time for sickness when you are a traveling entrepreneur. Hand sanitizers might seem to you as an insignificant thing to carry. Yes, this thinking surrounds the mind of many digital nomads but carry one and thank us later.
The airports and airplane are crawling with germs and it is very important to be aware that these germs can cause many harmful diseases.
So carry a hand sanitizer the next time you are boarding an airplane.
Whether you are a general traveler or traveling entrepreneur, a trip always depends upon some crucial decision and “what to pack” in one amid those.
You can surely carry heavy luggage and head on to your destination but remember that the weight of your baggage will make your traveling experience sour.
We advise you to be practical and pack light so that you can move freely and relish every moment of your itinerary.
However, before you pack for your trip ask yourself one essential question – “am I going to wear these shoes, or that outfit, or use this gadget, or even read that book?”
