You have a busy life.

There is always a lot going on.

So, you will want to learn how to streamline your efforts so you can get more done without making yourself nuts in the process.

Here are some simple and effective strategies to streamline your daily work and personal life:

Consolidate Software – Do you have one piece of software for marketing and another for accounting? Is there yet another for inventory control? Do you You could benefit from an integrated software platform. A variety of packages are available today to meet the needs of small companies. Do some research and leverage technology.

Do Unpleasant Tasks First – If an unpleasant task cannot be automated, eliminated or delighted, do this task in the first part of the day.  It will give you a sense of accomplishment and you can focus better on other things that need to be done.

Learn in Your Car – If you know you need to learn more to make your life better, do so in your car.  Podcasts are a great cost-free resource. Here’s a link to my podcast. https://johnspencerellis.com/podcast

Finding Quality Content to Share Every Day – Most successful social media marketers follow the 80/20 rule, where they share quality content created by others 80% of the time and their own content 20% of the time.

To properly execute this sharing strategy you need to constantly be on the lookout for trending content.

A tool that can help you save time and effort with this is Buzzsumo.

Just type the keywords into the search field provided on their website and BuzzSumo will show you the most trending content on the web. It’ll also show you which individual social networks the content has been shared on most so that you can share them there.

Implement Automation Technology – You can implement various platforms and tools that automate tasks for you. This is most true for things you don’t like to do or don’t do well. This maintains a streamlined organization so you don’t add people just to do very basic, yet time-consuming tasks.

Have a Mentor – Learning from someone who’s gone before you can dramatically cut down on wasted efforts.

Grocery Shop of Certain Days of the Week – If possible, try to grocery-shop on Monday or Tuesday morning, when stores are less crowded.

Document Your Current Processes – Whether you’re carrying out your tasks from memory, or following an existing workflow, you first need to lay out the steps you’re following in your current process to complete your tasks.  This doesn’t have to be anything formal — jotting down your method on a piece of paper is better than nothing at all.

Of course, there is much more you can do.

However, this is a great start.

Keep things simple.

Always add value.
