Sometimes I just want to share a few helpful ideas with you so you can improve your business an/or lifestyle.
So, today I’m just going to give you 5 random ideas/strategies to make your business better.
1. Be slow to hire and quick to fire.
In short, don’t hire anyone without knowing them well, and making sure they fit the company culture. Don’t create a job for someone. Understand your need, and find the perfect person to fill that need.
2. The content on your website/blog is critical to getting ranked on Google.
You need frequent, relevant, quality and long-form content to make Google happy. 200-word posts don’t cut it. Some are okay. But, you need longer content. Posting on your site 3x/yer will also not work. Figure out a weekly schedule and make it a ritual. Do the work. Of course, there is much more to SEO (search engine optimization), but building a comprehensive site is a critical part.
3. It will crush your business when “you don’t know what you don’t know.”
It’s one thing to know what you need to do/know and not yet do it. It’s quite another to be completely unaware of what you need to do (what you must do) to make your business function at a high level. Being clueless about what to do next is the fastest way to dive bomb your business.
4. You can simplify things even more.
There is always a way to make your business even more streamlined. What else can be eliminated? If something takes 2 people, can it be done by just one? If something requires a person, can software do it instead? If something takes 2 weeks, how can you get it down to 10 days? There is always another level of simplicity.
5. Bigger doesn’t always mean better.
I used to think I was “successful” because I had 14 employees and a nearly 6,000 sq. ft. office building a bought many years ago. Now, I realize that was a huge pain in the butt. The people worked hard, and we did have a lot of fun at times. Some people didn’t work out in the long run. The building was expensive to maintain, and there was always something to spend money on that wasn’t really related to moving the business forward. There are people with a business half the size of yours who are more profitable. There are people who have a business which is 3x larger than yours, and they could have 10x the stress. Strive for lifestyle, fun, low maintenance and higher profit margins while serving as many people as possible.
There you go, 5 random business strategies.
Thanks
