Welcome, Mylène! Please introduce yourself to readers who may not be familiar with the integrality of your journey so far.
I was born and grew up in the French Riviera, the Mediterranean coastline of the southeast corner of France. I received a Bachelor’s Degree at the Université de Toulon and a Master’s of Business Administration at Dublin Business School. Chris Erhardt and I created Tunedly while in Europe. As we grew into the American market, we both earned the Startup VISA which was a new program launched by the Canadian government back then. The rest is history. We moved to North America with our kitten, met partners and brilliant minds, grew our business even further, adopted a puppy, and got married.
What made you venture into entrepreneurship?
I believed I had a lot to offer. When I met songwriter and music producer, Chris Erhardt, my entrepreneurial ambitions began to firmly fall into place. After discovering my love for music, I started examining the problems faced by the artists I managed during my college years in Europe. I started thinking of ways to come up with solutions to their problems. Chris on his end was also meeting challenges in his music collaboration endeavors.
Together, we developed a framework to assist songwriters who were disenfranchised by the rising cost of producing high-quality music. After a successful trial period, we co-founded the company that is now known as Tunedly.
We then created “Bring My Song To Life” after receiving numerous requests from people who are not songwriters, to create personalized music with lyrics for their celebratory events. Many visitors were looking for special gift ideas -in the form of music – to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, and other special occasions.
What advice can you offer to new entrepreneurs?
Believe in your dreams and future plans. Be relentless in bringing your vision to life. Spend time searching for the right talent who will understand what you’re trying to achieve. At the same time be patient enough to wait out the bad days. I believe the risk is worth it and victory often means facing the risk of losing head-on.
Could I use Bring My Song To Life for work? If so, how?

Similar to how an architect helps shape the skyline of iconic cities, Tunedly has hugely shaped the music industry. With over 30,000 successful tracks created by Tunedly – the online recording arm of the company, artists can now take their dreams into their own hands. As the music industry constantly changes and shifts, Tunedly has been a landmark for singers, songwriters, and producers since 2015. Is there anything you would like to say about the launch of the music discovery side of Tunedly?
Thank you. What a lovely comparison! We are excited about showing this new facet of Tunedly. There’s something so freeing about listening to songs. Music has an impact on our mood, memory, performance, and wellbeing. Magic happens in those moments.
What is the thing that has been the most rewarding to you in recent times?
Striving for more authenticity!
What helps you keep going at the moment?
In addition to my family and hobbies, thinking that nothing is ever really wasted helps me keep going.
What are your next travel plans?
We are preparing with one of our partners an event to celebrate our business and everything surrounding it in California, Santa Monica to be exact. I think I’ve already said too much because the news is not official yet! I would like to spend a few days on the French Riviera with great company and take random pictures. While there, eat delicious croissants, and go back home to North America with beautiful, fun, and pleasant memories.
When you are not climbing to new heights in your career, what do you do?
Spoiling my two pets! I also read books to keep being a fun spouse because I recently got married to my long-time boyfriend who is also my best friend. He gives me a happier perspective of life. I do not play tennis or dance as much as when I was younger, but I continuously expand my knowledge in fields I am interested in and areas I develop a passion for.
