They really are on to something special.
And, everyone does it a little differently.
What am I talking about?
I’m talking about what I’ve been writing about lately…
People saying F-you to the status quo.
People saying bub-bye to S.O.P. (standard operating procedure).
People saying the Jones’ can kiss my bootie.
People saying that the 9 to 5 was invented for someone else.
People saying that a cubicle doesn’t let you see the sunset.
People saying “I want to build MY dream”.
It’s all around you.
Maybe you’ve noticed, maybe you’ve been to busy in the “mechanism” created by people who don’t know any different. They are NOT bad people. They are just used to doing things a certain way, and maybe afraid to explore different options.
I think about my friend James who lived in the U.K. At a young age (after just a couple of years of cubicle work), he looked int the mirror in an elevator and said NO MORE. He did some special training, planning and then escaped to Thailand to work remotely and help people who want to do the same. He’s since moved on to another country but has the ability and freedom to do what he wants and live where he wants. REQUIREMENTS: Wifi, phone, and laptop
Then, there was the lady I just wrote about who was a billionaire. For reasons beyond her control, she had to let nearly everything go. She started over. She now lives on the beach in a 1-bedroom apartment and rides her bike at sunset daily. She still earns 5x the national average and has more than enough each month. She works 2-3 hours a day.
REQUIREMENTS: Wifi, phone, and laptop
My buddy Will used to live in Southern California. After the 2008 meltdown, his life dramatically changed. He left the States for Asia. He now splits time between Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Costa Rica and occasionally Las Vegas. He admits his earnings aren’t what they were in Newport Beach, CA. However, his cost of living is 90% less, and he now gets to workout 1-2 hours each day, eat out every meal ($1 – $2 per meal) and only works 2-4 hours a day.
REQUIREMENTS: Wifi, phone, and laptop
My longtime friend Jon used to live in the UK. He’s a fitness pro. He’s ridden his bike across the U.S. and Australia, competed in strongman competitions and even won a kickboxing fight. He’s an animal. He sold is gym due to high rent, a cranky landlord and too many headaches. He took the proceeds and reinvented himself. He did some AirBandB, lived in Thailand and explored while offering online coaching and training. He’s still young and can write his own ticket on his terms.
REQUIREMENTS: Wifi, phone, and laptop
My friend Danny had a wide range of jobs and careers. She even worked and lived from an RV while traveling the country. She now is a self-described digital nomad. She splits time between Las Vegas and where ever the heck she wants. Her business is 100% online. She coaches people on how to tell their personal and brand story. She exercises on most days. She has friends all over the world. Her cost of living is really low. She is free.
REQUIREMENTS: Wifi, phone, and laptop
