You have many choices when it comes to running an online business. But, essentially, it comes down to two choices.
Will you offer a product-based business?
Or, will you offer a service-based business?
A product-based business is when you sell any product. It could be something home-made you sell on ETSY. It could be selling bicycles. Most people in my business community who sell products use a platform such as Amazon or eBay to reach a huge audience and make the selling process easier. Others decide to use a platform such as WordPress or Shopify to build their store.
You can find a wide range of products to sell from sites like Alibaba and Aliexpress. You will be astonished at what’s available for you to sell with margins as high at 400%.
You can create a product-based business which is 100% location independent. You can live and work anywhere you like. It goes with you.
A service-based business is when you offer any type of service for a fee. It could be training, coaching, consulting, teaching or mentoring anything. This type of business is likely a bit easier to start. Imagine any area of expertise that could ever be needed in any field – EVER! You can offer a service for that need. And, you could do so 100% online. Your services can be delivered via Zoom video, Skype, email, iChat, phone, text or digital documents. It can be any combination of these.
Think about it. Most people are too busy to do anything other than have a virtual discuss/consultation of some type. Take advantage of this mindset. Provide a quality service that helps them accomplish their goals while you enjoy a great lifestyle.
Can you do both? Can you run a product and service business? YES, YES, YES!
Here are two examples: You can offer yoga instruction via video and sell “yoga starter kits” as well. Look on Alibaba for yoga supplies to see what is possible.
You can consult business owners on automation, and then sell software that helps them automate better.
BONUS IDEA: You can be an image consultant, and also sell jewelry and accessories.
You really have endless options. You just need to take action and keep going until you make it work. Too many people quit right before their big breakthrough. I’ve seen far too many cases where people quit or slow down just prior to the moment when they WOULD HAVE HAD their big break. Keep going. It’s not that difficult. Too many people don’t get past the hump to coast down the other side.
If the cubicle is getting too cramped, you can do something about it.
If your current business has too much overhead, you can reduce it.
If you want to be more mobile and location free, you can make that a reality.
Your time is now.
